I am currently helping a friend build an addition to his 60×80 pole shed. He wanted a 20×80 leanto added to existing building. How hard can that be ?
WELL, Im a cabinet maker, I remodel houses. BIG JOBS that require more people I usually avoid. He promised me I would have help ?
Fisrt day I dug all posts in myself, used a backhoe with an auger….EASY PEASY
Second day he came and helped with 3 posts in back wall, they were 24 ft long….....2 of us…just made it
Next day his youngest daughter came and helped. We nailed all purlins on walls.(The young lady was GOOD )
Monday I built the rafters, his youngest boy came and helped.(He is also GOOD)
Yesterday we finished rafters and put them ALL UP….owner came and helped 2 hours.
We are using a hydralic manlift and THAT is saving my butt.
I also built a rolling scaffold on 2 older trailers….works very well
Today I was rained out at noon…..hoping to get last row of lumber on before we hang tin.

The guy wanted EXTRA heigth for Air seeder tanks, Tractor…..perhaps that explains WHY I could NOT use a full width truss…......thus is SASK . Canada. Our snow is not as wet and heavy as other parts of Canada…..

Leaving front unfinished till farmer decides what he wants to do….he may even just leave it open ?....Its his building…..when they ordered the metal the corners never showed up or the gable trim. Would have been nice to install while he has zoom lift…..it has to go back this week

The local lumberyard had the corners and gable end cap in stock. finished them while Zoom lift was still there…a BIG job COMPLETED !
