Aspiring homebrewer, KU homer, Cubs fan, worker of woods, and amateur mustache enthusiast...
I started my woodworking journey in high school, then I took a break in college to study chemical engineering... Took a job after school with a software company that allowed zero time for such enterprises and now I'm back within 20 miles of my sleepy little southwest Kansas hometown at a commercial cabinet shop. Estimating and engineering particle board cabinets is fine for a paycheck, but my true passion is solid wood furniture with a little soul to it...
I'm slowly acquiring tools for my personal one car garage shop, but between work and my father (20 minutes away) I've got access to all the power tools a guy could ask for! Dad has gone away from furniture building and makes some pretty amazing segmented bowls in the style of Ray Allen (not the NBA player)... I was a power tools only guy up until about a year ago, but I've recently discovered the joy, accuracy, most of all the quietness hand tools provide and look forward to adding more tools/skills to my arsenal.
I'm looking forward to sharing and learning along with this little community...
