Here is my progress so far on the second plans/video I ordered fro the New Yankee Workshop.
Being so new at this I like the fact that most of his plans are offered with a video. I find myself referring back to the video often when I am not sure about something. It’s going in the dining room which is the same room as the cupboard I built. Since I built the cupboard with a mahogany wood top I decided to do the same with this one and make them match.
In between the first piece and this one I decided to build myself a work bench. Having the bench (nice flat top) is a big help with assembly and I see the difference in my work. I made some minor mistakes on this one but nothing so noticeable and since this one will be painted also, they will all disappear.
This one builds fast and the most fun was the detailed moldings at the end. I didn’t think I was going to like that part but I actually enjoyed that part the most.
Lastly I have to do the doors.

Very nice! That’ll be a great set once it’s finished. I really liked using NYW to help me ease into the bigger and more complex projects. I just wish he’d made more Arts & Crafts stuff.
