delta band saw 16" question - 12 replies

I have the chance to buy a delta #28-560 band saw. Does anyone heer own one? Is this a good saw. are there any reasons that I should not buy this saw?

I have a chance to save some decent wood from going into the dumpster at work. a couple of days ago one of the other trades were demolishing a conference table. They know that i salvage wood so they asked if i wanted it. It’s all cherry. some are 2×4.

Drilling holes in veneer - 6 replies

I am currently working on a candel holder that holds 3 candels. I am usind 1/2” mdf covered with veneer. I need to drill 3- 7/4” holes in the top for the votives to sit. What would be the best way to do this without ruining my veneer?

Ive seen David Marks use double stick tape on his tv shows to attach templates to work pieces before useing his router table. I tried this and ruined my work piece when the tape failed. Is there a special tape made specificaly for wood?

Bandsaw blades - 11 replies

I know that the blade that comes on a new table saw is junk. Is it the same with bandsaws? The blade on my 14” Delta bandsaw just broke. Its not that old and I wasnt happy with performance. Any sugestions on a good but affordable replacement blade.
