after crosscutting and ripping my 2×4 into many many pieces it was time for glueup. because this 2×4 is reclaimed it had a previous finish on the edges. I glued the boards together and later came back to remove glue lines with a card scraper before unclamping. after unclamping the glued up boards fell apart. glue wont stick to finished materials. I already knew this but in my rush to complete the project it was overlooked. Out comes the thinner and the scraper to remove the finish and the glue. Now i had to reglue. the point is , if i wasnt in such a rush i would probably be further along. Instead I had to do the same work twice.

Well, even with the glue-up screw-up you are still making progress.

Keep at it.

thanks Scott, it use to be one apron on a conference table. Almost all of my projects are made from reclaimed lumber. Its alot of work sometimes preping so it is useable, but it is worth it. This board was a tuffy, it had some ash glued to it, took a lot of time to remove it.
I got lucky yesterday, I found a 8’long 1” by 6” white oak board.
