Anybody have any experiences with Grizzly’s G0458 18” 1-1/2 HP Single-Phase Open End Drum Sander? I’m looking to buy a thickness sander and am unsure of which to get. These are on special now for about $850.

Ladies Night

It all started with a woman at church asking me if I could help her fix up a doll house she bought at an action. She came to my shop one evening and brought a friend. They were interested in the tools and some of the projects I have around the shop so I asked if they’d like to try some. Bottom lins is the doll house is finished and I now have several women who come to the shop two at a time and I have a waiting list of others who are interested. We feature a new machine every evening and build a project with that machine starting with the scroll saw.

I had not thought of this, but it seems like a good way to get new people in the hobby we all love so much.

After Christmas gift exchange

Anyone interested in a gift exchange after Christmas? If you’re like me you made a lot of small stuff for gifts and have a few things left over. What better that sharing with another LJ’er. I think if anyone’s interested they should be small – like ornaments, small intarsia,—stuff like that. If anyone’s interested, I’d organize it. It was done on another list a few years ago and worked out great.
