Hinge - 4 replies

I need 2 of these hinges that will hold up a wood countertop 1 1/2” thick x 40” long x 24” wide. It’s going to be heavy and will need to stay open to get to a Yeti ice cooler. I can find light weight ones but no heavy duty. Does anyone know where I could find them? Thanks in advance

To Glue up or Not to Glue up - 14 replies

I recently overheard a conversation about to glue up, or not to glue up panels on hot, rainy high humidity days. Since I was about three seats away from the conversation on a plane I didn’t join in the conversation. What are your thoughts, pros and cons? In a commercial environment we have no choice and have never had any problems eithe...

Building Material Market in Russia - 0 replies

My wife and I have been to one of these in Novosibirsk. She warned me on the drive there that it’s not like a Home Depot or Lowes. She wasn’t kidding either. She yelped at me for 2 hours because she got her boots muddy too. Course, it was my idea to go and check it out so I had to hear her yelp for two hours for payback I suppose. ...

Ad Blocker - 1 reply

The news sites seem to be getting a handle on people using Ad Blocker. I’ve been to three news sites this week that threw up a pop-up banner that says…We see you’re using Ad Blocker. Turn off your Ad Blocker to continue, so that ended me reading their news anymore. I’m going to send Ad Blocker an email and see what the...

I put this pic on another thread so I thought I would let everyone see it in a new thread. The furniture maker is Michael Gilmartin in Atlanta. The best I can remember he said he uses a special order Douglas Fir pl...

I’ve got to build a set of outdoor cabinets. Cost comes into play when I mention to the people Starboard. These cabinets will sit on an upper deck of a lake boathouse that is exposed from all sides with water and the outdoor environment. It does have a partial roof over the deck and that’s where the cabinets will go. Since Starboa...
