I've been making sawdust for 50 years. My first woodworking project, that I can remember, was a dog house made out of blackjack pine slabs and used nails. Things have improved some since then, tools and hardware, but I am still learning how to 'cut once' and make it square.

I enjoy woodworking, sewing and computing. I got started sewing when my wife upgraded her sewing machine and left the old one sitting around. Kind of like that old dog house, I started fumbling around and next thing I knew I had a new denim jacket.

I am starting to think about retiring some day and have decided to upgrade some of my tools before I do. I purchased a Shopsmith MarkV in the early '80s and stared replacing it with individual power tools about 15 years ago. When I had pretty much replaced the functionality of it I gave it to my sister for her workshop.

I make furniture items and gifts mostly. I do some spindle and pen turning, and trying to figure out the scroll saw.
