The bird and all the trimmings are gone finally. Ready to get back to normalcy. Have been staying away from family and friends while i fight my yearly cold. sleep and drugs have catapulted me over the hump, I feel almost human this morning. I am having withdrawals from the lack of shop time, I have this uncontrollable urge to “piddle”.

The bird is smoked and safely tucked away in the frig in the basement waiting to be warmed and carved. We are picking up my mother-in-law this morning and are set for the kids and grand kids to descend on the homestead to visit and devour mom and dads Thanksgiving offering, we are so excited.
No work Friday…harrah…my plan is to finish the computer table/desk and then move on to the next WW project.
We wish all of you a happy and enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Shop remodel

The process has begun since the inspiration of a previous blog crossed my vision. My woodworking buddy “Sarge”...who is multi talented has supplied me with a preliminary drawing to use in the planning process. I have two projects to finish before the actual works begins, but to talk and think about the up and coming adventure will keep me focused on my objective, the good news is if you find my dream boring all you have to do is click me off…ha ha (sometimes LuLu is good at that)

Back and inspired

My bride LuLu and I are back from a relaxing weekend at Tan-Tara, a beautiful resort in the Ozark region of Missouri. We had a relaxing and inspirational week-end.
My withdrawals from the lack of being able to walk into the shop and “tinker” have subsided some since we returned.
I began taking measurements and making a drawing relative to moving my shop to a larger and more functional area of the basement. It will be a long process but I’m excited and cant wait to begin. I will keep you posted as things progress.

I got to spend a little time in the shop last night. I fooled around with the old plane of my grandfathers. My WW buddy “sarge” showed me yesterday how to adjust the blade. I discovered last night as i “played” with it,practicing on a piece of scrap wood, why so many woodworkers avoid such tools. ”It ain’t easy”
I’m not discouraged (yet anyway)..I will keep reading, practicing and maybe someday I will become skilled enough to at least use it on a project.

It’s a great day to be alive…(I think someone wrote a song about that). It is a beautiful fall day in Missouri, I love this time of year. No “skeeters” ,no “sunburn” no “grass to mow”....LIFE IS GOOD)
Trying to cultivate a habit of blogging everyday, hopefully some day I will have something of interest to say.
