Arts and Crafts Bed #1: Bed design

I’ve recently started planning for my next project, a queen Arts and Crafts style panel bed. I’ve got a preliminary Sketchup model created but I know I’ll have to keep tweaking the model until I get it right. My projects are much more successful when I have a good cut list and plan.

I’m planning to use quartersawn white oak throughout, except for the slats which will be some cheaper material. I’m currently debating on whether to use quadrilinear posts, veneer, or 12/4 stock for the legs I’m hoping to collect the necessary lumber over the next couple of months to spread out the cost and to give the wood a chance to acclimate to my shop.
