Hi there, I'm a newcomer to the Internet so am still fairly hesitant in finding my way around. I was introduced to woodworking in Primary School almost sixty years ago and have loved it ever since. I have only got serious about it in the last twenty years but still am not an expert. I worked for many years as a Road Surveyor but retired in 1991 and have never been bored. I have a number of interests, including writing and photography, but always come back to woodworking as my number one hobby. I am going to build a version of the John White NFW, which I think is a brilliant design. So, I look forward to a long association with fellow woodworkers in Lumberjocks.
In November, 2008, I completed my version of John White's brilliant New-Fangled Workbench and am very pleased with the result. I have mounted it, minus its legs, directly on my old 8-foot bench. I have raised the floor in front of it to compensate for the extra height. It works fine. Should I need to I can fit the legs to it. A photo of it appeared in a local national woodworking magazine. Cheers to all.
