Finding woodworking stuff on Amazon- A less ponderous way

If you’ve looked on Amazon for tools and parts you know you can find them, but you will sometimes find boogie boards and ipods listed with your hand planes.

Some may know (and some may not) there is a woodworking specific site within Amazon and it certainly is a better place to start looking for woodworking stuff. But even it is a little cluttered and no doubt designed to maximize sales of high dollar items, not ease finding things. Certain things- like say drill bits – are difficult to navigate to from this page.

I have created a page here: Amazon Woodworking Nodes you are welcome to use.

At the top it has a link to the main woodworking page at Amazon. It also has ‘node’ pages for various things woodworkers may be interested in, like Bandsaw Accessories and ‘Router Door and Window Bits’.

Check it out. It’s not built with beauty in mind and at the bottom you may see a few other Amazon nodes I use (they are separated from the Woodworking stuff). Feel free to use any of it if you like it. Feel free to ignore it you don’t.

I too end up with an amazing amount of extraneous stuff when searching Amazon. I just tried a couple and they seem to do the job – much more important than beauty in my opinion. If I wanted to make my own, how would I do that?

Thanks!

The last blue link in the right hand column of my page is called ‘FindBrowseNodes’. Clicking that link takes you to a site that has a zillion of these Amazon nodes. Clicking on the links you find there takes you to the sub categories. Clicking on the ‘a’ at the end of the category should launch the Amazon node page. The links there are little finicky. Sometime right-clicking and selecting ‘open link in a new tab’ works better. I don’t know why.
