Ahhh I broke my Dust Deputy!!!!! - 7 replies

I knocked over the 35gallon drum my dust deputy is mounted on and the top popped off!!!! I am hoping that super glue will be strong enough to put it back on. I have sent an e-mail to the DD to ask if they recommend something in particular. Arrgh what will i do without it! Maybe duct tape can fix it!!!! lol Anyway i love this thing it works great...

Drawer construction? - 13 replies

I know, i know, i get it dovetail drawers are the creme de la creme of drawer construction, i get it and i still have questions.Can you make dovetails in plywood? or maybe would you? Do quality high end kitchen cabinets use wood or ply for drawer(side)construction? Are dovetails that much stronger than rabbit dado drawer construction?

Cabinets that support Granite countertops? - 5 replies

I am building kitchen cabinets that will have Granite counter tops. Do the cabinets need to be beefed up to support the weight?. I was going to make the sides 3/4? plywood, the back 1/2” plywood. the tops/ nailer for the counter top to attach to would be a 4” wide 3/4”plywood front and back. will this be enough?

I will soon be trying to clamp together a kitchen island top. The plan is to do it in 3 steps. Clamping 2 halves, let the glue dry, then clamping the 2 halves together.
