I have been looking for a sharpener for a while and came close to coughing up $250 for the Jet clone of the Tormak when the woodworking show was in town last month. I had also seen the Work Sharp on the web. Dan Like had seen one in action and given it his endorsement. There is a video of it on thier web site if your interested in seeing it in action. Wood Magazine has a review of it as well as a video of it in action.

I realized that I needed decent way to hang on to the correct angle on the worksharp. I began looking for a tool holder to use with it but alas, there were none available and Lee Valley’s holder would not work with this sharpener.
Here’s what I came up with:
I bought an extra ($10.00) hand held jig rather than make one as time is not my best friend.
Next I stripped the roller assembly off the holder.

I purchased this sharpener at our local wood show last week and have it out of the box and pressed into service.
First impressions are favourable .I has an adjustable guide for setting the proper cutting angle and deburring the blade set on click stops in the base.It has a see through wheel for grinding curved chisels and the like.It comes with a pair of glass plates which I immediately realized should be a minimum of three.I will pick up more today.All in all it a pretty decent device.Her...
