When we first went back to the States in September 2009 for our 4-month visit, I had three goals. They were: Go to the Canton First Monday Trade Days Attend one of Roy Underhill’s classes at the Woodwright’s School in North Carolina Pop in on some fellow woodworkers’ shops to see what they’re doing and to try new things Well, two out of three ain’t bad. I did go to the Canton flea market, and blogged about my sole find there. And I did get to visit the shops of two fellow...

Hey again Everbody! Since I have been into woodturning lately, I thought that I would share a quick video of some of the small projects that I have doing on the lathe. Nothing fancy, just some small lidded boxes. Maybe this will inspire someone else to get out there and, as Capt. Eddie Castelin would say, “make some shavin’s”.
Hey everybody, thanks so much for the great comments about my debut Woodworking Video. I had some more creative ideas to share along with another track that I had recorded about a year back entitled “Autumn Treasure” I hope you might enjoy it. I also included a poem to go along with this piece in the end of the video same name as the title. Forgive the quick speed reading headings as the track swiftly moves by…lol….but I only have so much time and the pause butto...
LJ’s This is how I make a bottlestopper. This piece of laburnum I got when they cut down this tree , it was only 200 meters from my house!! My bottlestoppers are sold and most of the money goes to charity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQ6x-_-b84I&feature=share&list=UUdl_tamYXjTTHIg7DgMUmZQ Thanks for watching
Build part 1 of the lathe duplicator series.
As a woodturner, I have seen my work go from about being about to about being more complex. I don’t quite know what happened to make that change, but I just simply lost the interest (for now) in making simple things. I found it pretty funny, since I began turning for the exact opposite reason. I could go to the lathe and make something that was pretty nice (by my standards at that time) in an hour. I had started in woodworking via the traditional means of making furniture and box...
Hi Jocks! I had been wanting to make another quick project so out to the shop I went and made another cupcake stand. This one is for my oldest daughter who just completed a cake decorating class. Hopefully this will be a good motivator for her to make some nicely decorated cupcakes to see and display, if only temporarily! ha. Thanks for checking out this video. It was spur of the moment but still fun and satisfying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUd4nIzSq7M&list=UUU_N6BtSIC...
