Jarrah, Tasmanian Oak, Brown wood and Maple veneer.

12-23-2014 07:40 AM by BobWemm | 4 comments »

Well, the first in this series was a little on the ordinary side, that is not very creative, so it was time to step up a little and try something that quite frankly scared me.But the result will be rather nice if I do say so myself. This is unfinished at this stage, the glue is not yet cured properly and only the outside is shaped. The base and neck also need more shaping but that will happen in due course. The inside also has to be turned out.The same process was used as the first one, cu...

Adventures in Woodturning

02-11-2010 04:05 PM by Eric | 4 comments »

When we first went back to the States in September 2009 for our 4-month visit, I had three goals. I did go to the Canton flea market, and blogged about my sole find there. And I did get to visit the shops of two fellow...

Small Woodturnings

03-13-2012 06:09 PM by Brett | 4 comments »

Hey again Everbody! Since I have been into woodturning lately, I thought that I would share a quick video of some of the small projects that I have doing on the lathe. Nothing fancy, just some small lidded boxes. Maybe this will inspire someone else to get out there and, as Capt. Eddie Castelin would say, “make some shavin’s”.

Hey everybody, thanks so much for the great comments about my debut Woodworking Video. I had some more creative ideas to share along with another track that I had recorded about a year back entitled “Autumn Treasure” I hope you might enjoy it. I also included a poem to go along with this piece in the end of the video same name as the title. Forgive the quick speed reading headings as the track swiftly moves by…lol….but I only have so much time and the pause butto...

07-29-2015 02:34 PM by woodshopmike | 4 comments »

Some of y’all may remember the post a few years ago about the wood lathe I built. I’ve been meaning to write about the “how & why” of this project for some time and I finally got around to it! I talk about the motivation to build my own lathe, the expenses, design process, & of course building the lathe in addition to other things. Per the norm, the post can be found on my blog. I hope you enjoy the read!
