Make a Folding Out Feed Table for your Table Saw

90 days ago by WoodJediNTraining | 16 comments »

This Week I show you how to make a folding out feed table for your table saw. This design was based after an article and plan found in a 2009 issue of Woodworker’s Journal Magazine. Originally the plan was designed for a Cabinet saw with a Biesemeyer Fence System, so I had to make some slight modifications for my Porter Cable Saw. In this 3 part video series I show you a step by step on building this project as well as talk about the modifications I had to make. The Article and plans ca...

How to find and harvest legal burls!

1316 days ago by OregonBurls | 37 comments »

Hey everyone, It was suggested that I start a discussion on how to find and harvest burls. Please give your input also. I don’t deal with straight grain that often. I cut and sell burls for a living so here is what I know. It is illegal to harvest a burl without permission. of course if it is on your own property you can give yourself permission. What I do is put an ad on Craig’s list saying I want your burls. Most people don’t know what burls are. So you don’t get that many calls....

Making a Violin #4: Cutting the 4mm edge to size

911 days ago by RonPeters | 3 comments »

The wood shaped to the line. If you check back a few posts there were two lines. My ‘final’ line is what you see remaining. Here’s a jig I made to cut the edges to size. Does anyone see what ‘the problem’ is in this picture? Think hard… It’s a 1hp Craftsman router with a 3/8” straight bit. I call it a ‘face off’ bit, but I could be wrong? The jig part is the device holding the router steady. It’s 1/8” alu...

From here on is the little decoration details… I hope I don’t have too many pictures ;). I think I’ll let the pictures do some of the talking for me but I want to capture the whole process....

1178 days ago by jockmike2 | 15 comments »

Had a great time today with Rustic Rick his wife Nancy, Billie J. and his wife Lou Ann, SteveMI, and Myself and my lovely wife Kris. I got a cheaper version of the Gripper from Woodline USA, at $16.00, and a router for my Dremel. Oh man they had some wood to die for, we just had no way to get it home. I’ll have to let the other guys tell you what they got cause I wasn’t paying to much attention. Needless to say I couldn’t find any Lathe tools to speak off. Or any thing else ...
