Well it’s been a little bit since my last youtube video, thanks again for watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-57L4nYxhU In this video, I’m walking through my log yard / Sawmill and wood shop talking about my on going projects…...
Now that the new year has started I’m getting entangled in fine tuning my new space and all the daydreams that go along with it. The table saw has had a few small, short runs checking the fence and installing risers to my assembly table so that it can learn a new trick as an out feed table! I had a small bit of oak ply laying around and it works out perfect to add just the right height I needed to the table. As you’ll see it’s just barely below the table saw top so the...
Wood shop walk through, update on the going ons here in my shophttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZKJ2ZgwPsY
The long 7 year wait is over!!!! I have finally posted photos of my wood shop. Granted, they are just some snapshots of the shop from concrete slab to some more recent shots. I’ll try to clean up and get some nicer shots, if I have time. Thanks for going over and taking a look. Sawdustonmyshoulder's wood shop
Hello all, Made another quick video through of the wood shop, during a build your own rocking chair course. Have a look! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uKNine5DlY Thanks all for watching.
LJ’s,So I have been planning this shop/garage build since my wife and I purchased our first house last summer. I have been out of woodworking since then and, as my wife would attest, I have been really cranky not being able to make sawdust. The long winter here in Ohio has really taken its toll on me but has given me time to research a lot for the upcoming build. I have a background in residential construction when I was in high school (10 yrs ago) and have kept in touch with my old bos...
Now that our kids are grown I retired. Sold all of our 35 rental homes, sold and moved out of original home to move into a much smaller one. Our original home was 7,000 sq. ft. and the new one is a mere 2,500 with a 2 car garage but I do have a 10 acre lawn to build on. Only thing I’ve missed from our old home is the 55×70 shop I had so I’ve decided to have another built. My new one will be 70×70. The tools I have are an old Hitachi table saw, Hitachi 12 inch bandsaw, Dewalt mitersaw a...
Me and my wife are close to finalizing everything on the purchase of our first home. Unfortunately there is no space for my shop. There is an attached two car garage but not nearly as large as I need for the tools I have acquired over the last 12 months. The place I am renting now has a sizable 26×34 garage that I use for my shop. Therefore I am planning a shop build. I am thinking of a 30×40 or something close. I worked in residential construction in high school and have a very clo...
Watch here Sharping a saw for the first time
A lot of you are probably used to seeing woodshops full of tools and sawdust. Some even have woodshops that the brothers Green would be jealous of. Well, I have neither. In my first blog in this series, I shared my opinions on table saws and told you which one I was purchasing. Today I will be talking about the space that will eventually become my woodshop. As you can see, it looks more like a garage than a woodshop but I’m going to change that over the course of the next few...
