I filmed the build on my YouTube Channel. Please check it out! http://youtu.be/fPFrnuQRwWk I was commissioned to build this frame and thought I would take you guys along for the ride. The build consists of poplar stock, glass, black vinyl decals, glue Primary construction method was domino reinforced miters. The glass was held in with a rabbit. With Christmas right around the corner I had to try to finish this wine rack in the middle of a couple of other projects going on. I got it finished though, ahead of schedule so that is always good. Check out the video here.
Creating a wine rack to sit on the ground. I have got all the grid pieces cut out and ready for the glue up. Check out my blog for more details HERE and watch the video HERE Make sure to hit that subscribe button for more Woodworking and Blacksmithing videos!
During this Sketchup show I go through a balancing wine bottle holder. This has my most recent measurements that I use and also a link for my actual “How to make a wine bottle holder” video. That video was my first ever on YouTube. Check out the Sketchup video HERE.
Here was an easy project that I did recently; a Wine Bottle Stand. You only need one board for this project and it’s something you can build in a few minutes. Here is my attempt at making a video of how I made it, and as always you can check out my website at: www.woodlogger.com to see more projects and videos of what I’m doing in the shop.
Great way to reuse materials. I’m doing this with a standard pallet.
I finally finished all the wine bottle balancers for the wedding. In plenty of time, the wedding isn’t for another month. I’ll add it to my projects list with a batch of pictures, but will also put some final pics here. A few things I learned/would have done different/random thoughts: Cherry is now officially my favorite wood to work with. I used to prefer oak, and lots of other stuff is neat, but NOTHING machines as easily and comes out looking better than a piece of che...
About 10 years ago, I made a batch of those wine bottle balance pieces for Christmas presents. When my step daughter was here, talking about gifts for the guests who make the long drive to her wedding, I suggested these would be pretty nice. I was thinking like 1 for each couple, so maybe I’d be in for 50 or so pieces. Her first request was for 275 pieces! DOH! She later downsized it to 125, but I already had lumber cut for 200+ so she’s getting about 175 and I’m keeping th...
I have been itching to make a table for a while now. Not just any table, mind you, but a live-edge table made from a slab or two. When summer began I told myself that I would do it, and while I was browsing the internet looking for wood slabs, I came across a gentleman who had literally hundreds of slabs sitting in his back yard, waiting to be sold.I looked up the address and saw that it was close to some family members, some seven hours of driving away. “Perfect excuse.” I tho...
Well today I got out to the shop for about an hour this morning. Not much time, but it’s what I needed to get done what needed to get done. I’ve got three things that I cut up, and also got glued. First up is of course a new wine bottle holder design. It is a mix of purpleheart and oak. I wish I had some different woods to mix, but I’m using what I got. I’ve also cut and glue up a votive candle holder. It’s also made from purpleheart and oak. I know what I want i...
