Hints and Tips #21: Cork Feet

Have you ever had a project the needs little feet to get it off the table, but you only have wine corks? This happened to me recently, so I cut the corks into about 1/2 inch slices with my mini miter box and glued one in each corner of the project. To be sure they were level I rubbed the installed feet on a sheet of course sandpaper fixed to my flat work bench. Instant cork feet.

Like I mentioned in my post Stay Tuned , I have been traveling for some time. So, why Mexico? Why not Africa, Asia, The Americas or Europe? Well, I am just going to tell you why Mexico and from there you can dissect the reasons why I did not move to the other places. Reason #1. Build a wooden wine display box!

I filmed the build on my YouTube Channel. Please check it out! I was commissioned to build this frame and thought I would take you guys along for the ride. The build consists of poplar stock, glass, black vinyl decals, glue Primary construction method was domino reinforced miters. The glass was held in with a rabbit. Here was an easy project that I did recently; a Wine Bottle Stand. You only need one board for this project and it’s something you can build in a few minutes. I finally finished all the wine bottle balancers for the wedding. In plenty of time, the wedding isn’t for another month. I’ll add it to my projects list with a batch of pictures, but will also put some final pics here. A few things I learned/would have done different/random thoughts: Cherry is now officially my favorite wood to work with.
