After all a picture is worth 1000 words.. (swear ones) I guess the apple wood peg split it.. I knew i should have fitted it earlier..-21 but sunny…. So like the weather this morning i take a negative and go for a positive.. I can do an article on rehandling/renewing a damaged knife. After a bad start to the day with the k...

Just had to add my own free wood gloat. Last fall a friend of a friend decided to clean out his workshop. My friend called me and asked if I was interested. I couldn’t get there fast enough. We loaded up in my truck and hit the road. Let me say first I thought I might get 2 or 3 boards out of this trip but decided what the heck. We get there and talk to the guy and he’s decided he doesn’t have the room for everything he had and we started loading my truck up. And kept loadin...
I have spent the better part of my life building what I would call rustic furniture, I love the experience of going out into the woods and find some unique natural branch, bark or burl and incorporating it into a design.. I have only transit for transportation so I scour the beaches and trails and river banks for pieces to call out to me to work with. I grew up in the north country and really miss seeing diamond willow. Are there any diamond willow stands in the GVA? I don’t desire to chop down any trees…I look ...
