Recently I had a need to build a new table saw base for my saw. Rather than just building a simple replacement base, I opted to build one with lots of storage potential. This new base measures 6 feet long by 2 feet wide, which gave me good reason to move over to the new shop building. I haven’t yet finished the new shop set up ( haven’t even started) but this build is a great start giving me lots of options for storage potential… This build is a 2 part project. So be sure to...
Hey everyone, I have just redesigned Oregonburls.com would like to offer an artist page. I know that it is expensive to get your art into galleries that charge up to 40% of the sales price and ebay up to 25%+. Oregonburls.com is an advertised site. This page (Artist Corner) would allow you to sell your wood creations with just a flat fee of 10% of the sale price. You would keep your item and when it sells I print the shipping label and email it to you along with sending you a check or pa...
This week I decided to rebuild my tablesaws extension wing/router table. This time I removed the factory metal wing along with my old router table extension and built a new wing using the MDF and famica from last weeks build. This new extension wing combos as a router table as well as it has a pull out support arm that allows me to support my material as i cross cut long boards or sheets goods no matter if I am using a sled or not, because the support arm is adjustable. Here is a look at some...
The one Project Video I get asked the most to make is how to build a crosscut sled for the Tablesaw. Well there are a lot of videos out there on making a Cross cut sled, so this is my take on it. I hope you can take something from this video and use it in your shop
When it comes to shop storage, these simple shelves are an easy and versatile way to get your shop organized..Construction of the shelves is a breeze, and they can be designed to fit your storage needs
Processing Beach wood I took a trip to the beach for wood yesterday and that I will share some lessons that I have learned throughout the years of harvesting off the beach. Harvesting beach wood for turning or your wood project is a lot of work but you know how we are… Yah we are like kids in a candy store. We will beige, borrow or steal to get our candy. Well hopefully not steal. I like beach wood because it is more stable than green wood. It has been soaking and drying and soakin...
:O) I am a bit excited. I finally have a set of GRR-Rippers in the shop. I have been wanting one for a long time. So I put together this video to show you just a couple reasons why I am pumped up about these helpful shop accessories. Not only are they keeping me safe, but they are allowing me the opportunity to perform tasks I couldn’t perform before… That in itself has got me doing backflips… lol Here is a look at the video
Hi all. What a fantastic village you all live in here. Very cool! I am new to carving and to your community. I love working with all the local woods available in the lower mainland. I have only transit for transportation so I scour the beaches and trails and river banks for pieces to call out to me to work with. I grew up in the north country and really miss seeing diamond willow. Are there any diamond willow stands in the GVA? I don’t desire to chop down any trees…I look ...
Well this week was a busy week and I didn’t get to make a video project for this past Wednesday. So I thought I would Share this quick project video with you today. For a recent project I needed to make a larger version of an angle gauge to allow me to get the exact angle of an inside corner of a corner shower. After borrowing one from a fellow woodworker, I decided I needed one for the shop. Here is a look at making the simple but very useful over sized angle finder. These are commonly...
