Workshop 2016 #4: Ironic little encourager

These past few months have disappeared beneath me. I’ve learned some new skills in the shop and have been cranking out projects but all of the rest of my life has become more demanding of my time. Ironically my daughter has saved my woodworking hobby in that she has become more and more eager to help me with projects even at the age of four. Craftsman Style Frame - part 1

I posted a picture of a Craftsman Style Frame i made and i thought if anyone was interested, i have a two part video series of how i did it. The main jointery is the use of a half lap. It’s a simple and yet strong joint. I decided to show how to make it using both power tools and hand tools. Hope you enjoy it.chad stanton

Yesterday was a good day, by almost any woodworking standard. Regrettably I didn’t touch wood to a tool. So how can it be a good day? I got to spend it with David Marks of WoodWorks Fame. He taught a class at my local WoodCraft and my wife was kind enough to give me the day to go.
