NOTES: A lot of interesting stuff on this trip so I’m breaking it up into separate days. If you want to see the high res picture, click on the embedded picture and it will open a new browser window with the full high res version. This trip has been REALLY cool. There were a few issues, like my luggage not making it here. I guess I was due since this is the first time in five years of hard traveling it’s not made it to my destination. I’ve had it get delayed coming hom...

Yesterday I dropped over to Bribie Island to deliver the Bribie Woodies [Bribie Island Woodworkers Club], a longer arm for their Torque Workcentre… and had an opportunity to meet some of the members and look around the club room and workshop… as well as their two wood stores… The club is set up in a picturesque woodland area behind the Community Arts Centre… very peaceful….most of the time…Plenty of trees and a nice breeze blowing in from the ocean.. Ver...

Isn’t it nice to have a friend visit? And it is even better to have a visit from one of the most talented from Lumber jocks! We (actually I do a lot of watching) have been making Momma happy with some new cabinets to store medical supplies for our son that is bed-ridden. My family life has improved due to his generosity. We do a lot of visiting and have several neighbors over to enjoy his company too. The neighborhood is finding him just as much a part of their family as we have. Two yea...

A visit with a LumberJock - Workshop of Charles Neil

03-21-2008 06:14 PM by Karson | 16 comments »

You might be a LumberJock if you visit the shop of a LumberJock and you fail to take any pictures. So Sorry. As I was leaving I said to my son-in-law. I didn’t take any picture and I think Charles was ready to kick us out. End of Story. Now the beginning. I sent Charles an e-mail a few months ago and told them that my son-in-law and daughter lived about 15 miles from him and sometime when I’m visiting them that I’d like to visit him. He replied make sure that you...

I Met LJ Member Dave Mitchell Tonight!

09-27-2009 06:19 AM by Todd A. Clippinger | 12 comments »

LJ member Dave Mitchell and his wife stopped by tonight. Dave, also known as Splinters, lives in the far northwestern corner of Montana in West Glacier. That is at the western gate of Glacier National Park. He and his wife are traveling to the midwest for a visit with family and they had to come right by my place in Billings, MT. Since I live just spittin’ distance off the freeway and the KOA is just down the street they decided to stop by. Dave is a real Montana kind of guy, a...

A Visit With LJ Members

11-24-2009 08:45 PM by Todd A. Clippinger | 22 comments »

I got to meet a couple of LJ members last night from Auburn, WA and we had a great visit. I got in contact with Topamax and we decided to get together for a visit right away. Not long after I got to his house, another LJ member showed up. Topamax had called a couple of other guys and one of them, Studie, was able to make it over for a visit. We talked for quite a while. Not only do we have a common interest in woodworking, but we all have our own business and work in the trades. There w...

Visiting LumberJocks #1: LumberJock djg - David, Torbay, Newfoundland

07-08-2015 01:23 AM by HerbC | 4 comments »

I’m currently on vacation in Newfoundland, Canada. Today I had the pleasure to meet and visit with David (LumberJock djg) at his home and shop here in Torbay, Newfoundland. David is a great guy and a very talented woodworker. He has a well equipped and very well organized shop. I was very impressed with the effectiveness of his sawdust/dust control system. His shop was spotless and it was hard to believe he does any work in it but the significant quantity of finished projects which f...
