We may have pictures of family and friends throughout the years. Then again we may have photographs of special occasions such as births, weddings, or graduations. Simply put we have pictures and art work that are everyday reminders of many pleasant thoughts and memor...
I decided to use some leftover 1/2 inch plywood to make a storage box for my table saw accessories. The box will be mounted on the existing shelf of my saw. Here’s a video that provides an overview (watch on Youtube for HD version):
This video is really for spouses of woodworkers. So feel free to “forget” and leave this window open on your monitor for your wife to stumble upon. Read my entire article here.
For those who wanted to watch the new video but don’t do the link thing…..
Last Monday, after the DIY WoodWorking Show in Launceston finished… Luke and I were fortunate enough to be invited out to Myrtle Creek, just a short drive into the hills from Launceston… A new found friend, Cranston Shaw, Managing Director of Shaw Engineering, the largest Civil Engineering Company in Tasmania, took time from his busy schedule to drive us out there and then make sure we were at the airport in plenty of time. We also had time to drop in for a bite to eat and a b...
My son Trey wanted to make his girlfriend a bookstand. I told him that I would help him make it. We spent a Saturday working on it and had a great time. He found a pattern on the internet, I had some leftover oak and all the other supplies. I took several short videos with a digital camera and later decided to make a little video out of it. I wish I had used a better camera but but it turned out pretty neat. You can check him out here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOZ6i4NwecwI enjoy ha...

Made from solid Honudran Mahogany, it will only get more beautiful with time as it ages to a deep dark red color. And for the first time in a long while, I am knocking a “honey-do” proj...
This is a very cool story about the San Francisco Fire Department’s ladder shop! I know first hand how heavy these wooden ladders are. I also know first hand what a 1918 wooden ladder feels like SFFD Ladder Shop Video

A number of show attendees purchased burls last weekend… they dropped by to have some value added to their pieces.. This shows how simple the TWC makes flattening a burl… and as you know it is one of the most difficult procedures to accomplish without tear out or damage of some kind… This is not the case using the TWC… so simple … so effortless .. and so effective..
