My Journey As A Scroll Saw Pattern Designer #873: Happy Monday!

11-12-2012 12:27 PM by Sheila Landry (scrollgirl) | 10 comments »

Another Monday is upon us. Why is it the Mondays come so quickly? It is hard to believe that we are nearly half way through with November already and approaching the end of the year. Again. Looking back on the past year, it all seems to be a blur. I know we had a car trip to Cape Breton in there somewhere. Several days in the summer were spent cutting out witches’ hats and boots and Christmas stockings and packages. The day on the beach when I drew the snowmen. It all went by so quick...

03-04-2008 02:13 PM by woodwkr | 5 comments »

We never thought at the time to chronicle this project with photos, so I will try to muddle through with the few I have. I wish we got a photo of the pile of lumber and panels when they arrived in our trailer, but I can tell you that the site of them caused me to think – - &$#)@ WHAT ARE WE DOING !!!!—- :) Below are some shots of some parts layed out on the floor in an attempt to make some sense of it all. Click on the photo to get a full size view. Above is an attempt t...

My Journey As A Scroll Saw Pattern Designer #326: I Finished My New Project!

05-01-2011 02:53 PM by Sheila Landry (scrollgirl) | 10 comments »

Well, yesterday turned out to be a wonderful day on many levels. The weather was nearly perfect. The sun was shining and it was warm enough for a light jacket. I even had the top down on the car when I made a trip to the grocery store. It is amazing how getting outside for a while can do wonders for your mood. Even if it is a short time. I definitely had “spring fever!” However, there was work to be done and I was also excited about seeing my latest project come to life. ...

My Journey As A Scroll Saw Pattern Designer #358: Busy Times, Good Times

06-02-2011 02:27 PM by Sheila Landry (scrollgirl) | 8 comments »

I am a little slow out of the gate today, but it wasn’t without purpose. Yesterday was a very full day and I accomplished a lot. My early start paid off and although I thought that by the middle of the afternoon I would have a bit of a letdown and get tired, that didn’t really happy. I didn’t start cutting until late afternoon and finished up around ten. Even after that I was still excited about the project and got some of the general sanding done on it and the first coa...

My Journey As A Scroll Saw Pattern Designer #352: Rambling and Some Pictures for Dennis

05-27-2011 01:19 PM by Sheila Landry (scrollgirl) | 7 comments »

There is something about polar animals that enchant me. I don’t know what it is. I have always looked at them as creatures of great beauty. It strikes me as odd because as a painter, I am quite fond of color. I love painting wildlife and big cats and playing with the shading and tones and making them look realistic.
