Boat building #1: In need of spiritual applicant with free plans

09-27-2009 06:08 PM by threehands | 2 comments »

I know I can build one, just need the plans. Have looked and downloaded several but cant find ones concerning a Montana style. Those guys craft some s...

ScrollSaw Information and Resources #62: Where to fine the old, olde scrollsaw patterns

03-30-2014 04:34 PM by jerrells | 1 comment »

As I have been involved in scrolling for about four year plus my interest has become the older, more detailed, intricate patterns. Like the ones produced, to my knowledge, around the turn of the century. Some of my present and a lot of my new projects will focus on these types of patterns. I have done some extensive research as to where to find these types of patterns. Yes I am well aware the several web sites have some of what I am talking about. However paying $15 for a single pattern vs...

Vintage Tools #1: For The Love of Tools!

03-08-2013 12:53 AM by dj1096 | 1 comment »

My love of wood I owe to my Great Uncle Albert. I have a picture when I am about 4 helping him in his shop. He loved wood but was not a very “fine” carpenter. I loved what he exposed me to but decided I wanted to become the best carpenter I could be and that would mean finding a teacher to help me reach that goal. I met a luthier when I was about 12 and was all to happy t...

Wonderful Things #2: Sort of a Chest with Slideout Draw Trays

04-22-2014 02:12 PM by brucethecontrarian | 1 comment »

She Who Must be Obeyed spake thus; Seek ye out the land of Ebay and secure these 40 vintage wooden trays that have been made known to me and bring them hence. Thereafter shall ye build a cabinet such that it will hold all my supplies of craft that I might practice on them. And ye shall make it so it fits in a specific place and is neither too large nor too small. As She had spoken, so was She obeyed. The draws came from an old police station in the town of Preston (Watling Street...
