08-05-2014 06:40 PM by Patricelejeune | 12 comments »

Last time I posted on that project I was steam bending my mouldings. The columned were veneered in a previous post. Since this post we had another job to do a video on veneering column with Liquid Hide Glue that we posted on our Old Brown Glue playlist on youtube. It is uploading at the moment so go see it later if you are interested in learning how to veneer columns, we are pretty proud of it. The columns were turned with groves to allow for black rings. Fly Fishing Rods #6: Guides and final touches before finishing

11-21-2010 06:43 PM by Matt Vredenburg | 2 comments »

Wow, how time flies by when you get frustrated with a project and set it aside. It’s over a year since I started this blog series and it’s time to finish my project and close this chapter of the blog. Here are few pictures of the rod guides that I tied and ended up removing and re-tying. With all the practice, I think I have the the hang of it. Practice makes perfect.

Artemesia - Worlds Largest Craftsman Home

09-28-2014 08:04 PM by Jerry | 13 comments »

You will see some amazing joinery and craftsmanship in this slide show. The 13,300-square-foot mansion in L.A.’s Los Feliz neighborhood was built a century ago by Frederick Engstrum, a construction tycoon who built downtown’s lovely Rosslyn Hotel, according to a story last year in Los Angeles Ma...

Hi Everyone, Apparently the dining room table came up in the rotation, because a few comments were made yesterday. Instead of adding a blog regarding it’s construction, I’ll just post this link to my website, which covers the details in depth. Part one http://www.prowoodworkingtips.com/Build_A_Dining_Room_Table.html There are three parts, which are linked at the bottom of the page. I hope you enjoy it. Lee

trying to re-invent the top

The kids might not want to put their video games down long enough to try and master this simple toy but I would set the age range from 6 &#...
