well fellow jocks today started out with a small wood gloat, i was blessed with the opportunity of going into some friends land where a tornado went through and salvage some wood that was there, one was a good size dog wood tree, and the other was a very large mimosa tree, i found out that mimosa is a beautiful wood, and i wanted to try working with it, so i took the larger trunks to my local sawyer and while there, i was given a rare opportunity , if you have been to a sawyers wood lot, well...

random #26: Burl Wood... "Nutz" :(

1776 days ago by Gary Fixler | 8 comments »

This makes me laugh almost as much as it makes me cry. It’s a certified pre-owned with 3yr/3k bumper-to-bumper, and 7yr/100k drivetrain warranties, power everything, AM/FM/CD, access cab – 2-door, but has a small back, and little half-doors that make loading things/passengers back there...

Here it is. Certified preowned, but no dents or dings or anything. It’s 5 years old, but the engine looks pretty new. Obligatory guy and his new truck photo: “Access Cab,” woo! Let’s go find some dead trees! Few more pics in the flickr set if you need them.

Chevy Truck – Intarsia WoodworkingThe difference between men and boys is the prize of their toys ~ Doris Rowland I have had the pleasure of doing another truck project. This time it is of a Chevrolet Silverado. A while back, I did an intarsia project of my son’s Ford Boss truck (reference Boss post). One of his friends that he grew up playing football with saw the finished project and wanted one done of his truck. He sent me over a photograph of his truck to use as a template and to make a p...
