Hi, I am looking at a train bridge and the lumber on the truss has staple marks on it that I associate with being treated lumber. Can anyone tell me when those staple marks started appearing on wood?
I’ve scoured the internet, but have come up empty handed.

Earlier in this series I mentioned a set of stair rails I was supposed to be building for one Mrs Customer, a couple of towns away from my town of Laporte. I got distracted by any number of things and just got back to them this week.
The previous stair rails were built to match the existing porch rails. They had deteriorated sufficiently that they had become a hazard and Mrs Customer wanted them replaced in the same style, as her porch rails are in good shape.

Building a deck for my backyard. It had one on when we bought the place but it was very old and wobbly so we ripped it down. Fast forward 2 years and now we are putting up a new one. Decided to go with green treated wood primarily due to the cost and easy availability. I also had been making adirondack chairs and found out all of the cool colors they make stain in now!
the deck is 13’x12’
this was also my first attempt at making stairs, only ruined one extra 2×12 :)...

Well yesterday was a rain-out day, so today was a double-header. Well not really true. But the deck boards were going down well.
You can see my 20 ft pipe clamp that I’m using to compress all of the deck boards and take out the woofs, and the bows that always seem to show up after your get the perfect boards home. So much for hand picking.
Everything was going well until I got close to the edge.
Of course I was planning to stop here until I did the electric for the ligh...
