Here is my wall hung tool cabinet; I built it from plans in Popular Woodworking (December 2004, Chris Schwarz, Arts & Crafts Tool Cabinet) with several changes to suit my needs. The overall dimensions of the case are 24”W x 32”H x 12 3/4”D. The top is glued to two stretchers that run the width of the case.

For all of you cabinet builders on this site, my hat is off to you! I never fully realized the work that is involved in making a cabinet and how even the smallest mistakes can compound so very quickly…
Right before Christmas I posted this blog asking for input on plans for a tool cabinet. Well, I took all the advice I received and have been furiously building over the holidays.

I was able to spend some time in the shop over the holiday and finished getting the tool cabinet together. The drawer fronts are mounted as is the hardware. All glides are installed and the trays mounted in the cabinet section. Next will be taking everything apart, sanding, and finishing. I plan to locate some drawer liner material to put in the bottom of the drawings.

One of the good things about being in the Air Force is that, if you aren’t deployed, most of us can expect to get a good amount of time off around the holidays.
