Hi everybody…....My husband finally got the floor finished…...he did a fantastic job I might add and now…..I finally sucked up enough courage to get started on my kitchen cabinets. The kitchen and dining area is 14 ft wide x 24.6 ft long. My cabinets are made of plywood and my face frames and doors are made out of hickory. So after much research and debates, I have finally charged the card, and 2 days later the delivery arrived with the new saw in the box (I opted to have it delivered from the store as opposed to pick it up myself – at 450lbs, I simply wouldn’t be able to unload it myself) Delivery from HD was swift and smooth, positive and friendly guy stop at my place saturday morning, and helped me position the box in my garage – I couldn’t be happier (took 5 minutes, 4.5 of those was...

So among the few shotcuts that were made by providing the R4511 at the market price was the fact that it only came with a splitter+integrated blade guard but no additional low profile riving knives (for non through cuts). for the price this saw comes at – one can’t complain, and the fact is- it does have a riving knife mount system which is a good base to start with.
solution: homemade riving knife made out of 1/8” plate of 6063 aluminum:

This is my old tablesaw fence. It is a little hard to see from the photo, but I cracked it trying to “micro-adjust” it. So I started to look for an aftermarket fence, of which there are some really nice ones out there. Hey everyone, It was suggested that I start a discussion on how to find and harvest burls. Please give your input also.
I don’t deal with straight grain that often. I cut and sell burls for a living so here is what I know.
It is illegal to harvest a burl without permission. of course if it is on your own property you can give yourself permission. What I do is put an ad on Craig’s list saying I want your burls. Most people don’t know what burls are. So you don’t get that many calls....

This project is not technically finished so I will not post as a project..This part of the blog will deal with the cutting of arcs.I basically used one of the patron jigs I developed to cut the end curves for a Baguette Board…this pivots on the circle cutting jig. Cut two lengths of contrasting or complimentary timbers… I of course chose Purple Heart and Silver Ash…Silver Ash and Tasmanian Blackwood would have also been suitable… But if all you have is Walnut and Curl...

Hi guys ,, I had a request to make a tutorial with regards the endgrain Tumbling Block Design.First off,.., You need to decide the size of the blocks…. for this example I used 1” stock… Or something similar.. actually just over .. once dressed.

This board is not part of the 150.. I showed one of the 150 to a friend and she wanted one but a little larger,This is the way it was made.Cut some bits of board. NGR SA TBDress all sides.This is to see the way it will look with the stripe. Well, its been awhile now so i figured that it was time for another shop tour. i have made a lot of shop additions in the past few months and i have gone from just a kid with a few tools to this now having a fully funtional shop and being able to sell my work and taking in commissions. so here is my updated shop tour

Well folks!
It’s finally done!
This took a little longer than expected, because of the weather, & things.
It’s amazing that it looks just like the SketchUp plan, but I think a tad better looking though.
My Son, & his family really love it.
It’s almost like a new room on their house.
I also learned about the new way of staining treated lumber.
They don’t recommend letting it dry out for 60 to 90 days.
