I decided to make a new sled. One that addresses some problems I had with my old one. Mainly, it’s much smaller and lighter.

Hey guys. Just fooling around in the shop. Got tired of the wooden rails on my table saw sled expanding and shrinking, therefore making the table saw sled less accurate. I’ve never seen anyone on here (even though i’m sure there are) use metal rails for their sleds…..so i figured I’d give it a try. New Table Saw Sled Idea....

What do you guys think of a table saw sled with a removable insert for different blades, and blade angles? This is just something I put together really quickly in Google Sketchup – not very detailed and not the final design – just demonstrating an idea. I can already think of a few problems such as the fence will get ripped up with the different blades/angles. I don’t want 8 table saw sleds laying around the shop. I figured it’d be much easier to just make one...
