Spoon making is something that the more I research it the more I become astounded that this craft grows at the rate that it does. Friends, there are large groups of folks all over the globe that share classes, festivals, everything and anything related to making green wood into spoons and bowls. I think perhaps it may be that spoon making is very portable as well as affordable. The wood is free, you can do it while camping with friends, the bench is a chopping log, and the tools can be bro...

After the recent events of the Boston marathon in some way there is a feeling of guilt I have continuing to share ideas and projects involving woodcraft. But I also think of things this way, I am a musician and woodworker. Whenever there is some tragic thing as national as all of this is for everyone to endure as a country, I can only do what I do best to help anyone feel a little normal again. Barely a week past the misadventures and tragedy of hurricane Sandy and ole New Jeyyyyessssy has a new storm to deal with. Although much lighter than Sandy‚Äôs roar this experience provides snow mixed with freezing rain. After the piles of shavings, sawdust and sweat has been had the broom sweeps in a satisfied rhythm. While my inner happy finality of the spoon makers tote still brings me good feelings of inspiration to hew and chop once more, I ponder over at some fresh cherry and the task takes a hold of my crazed passion.
