I noted that someone here said something like, “You know you are a woodworker when your magazine subscriptions total more than a weeks pay”.I’ve been getting a lot of magazines lately that are filled with things I already know about, advertising, and several pages of large projects I may never build. So I’m making a list of magazines to do away with subscription wise.

For those of you who know Chris Schwarz and the quaint little magazine he’s been producing for a number of years now, you’ll be excited to know that Woodworking Magazine is now available via subscription. They have no advertisements and are packed full with expert technique, plans, and editorials. I couldn’t find the magazine locally, so I bought electronic editions online. Now I’ll be getting one of the better magazines known to the craft 4 times a year.

I read all of the community’s responses to my last blog, and had firmly decided that to retain my self esteem and to quit feeling like a sucker, I would cancel my subscriptions. But I really do love this magazine and their other products so I had to let them know why I was canceling.
