I put this in a forum a few days ago and wanted to add it here for everyone. I am on the mailing list for a local auction company that specialises in estate auctions. They have a sale comeing up on Oct 31st and Nov 7th that has at least 9 Shopsmiths in it. They will be selling at least 3 of the Shopsmiths on the Oct 31st day and the rest on Nov 7th. Here is a link for pics of the sale items. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=423752127&...
Hello all. I am in need. A need to fill the void. The void is an empty spot. The empty spot in an area of the shop I haven’t seen in years. There actually is a floor under all that “junk” as the bride would say. (I say golden treasures.) But, what I need now is spiritual help and a set of free plans for a drift boat or dory. I know I can build one, just need the plans. Have looked and downloaded several but cant find ones concerning a Montana style. Those guys craft some s...

So, now I’ve got the bulk of the work done on the case. Where I left off in my last blog I had cut the sides and glued the top together. Now, I got the top down to the right size. This was a little tricky because I wanted to keep the joint pretty much right in the middle of the panel. Once it was to size it was time to route a cove along the edges so I could fit them into the slots I cut into the sides. I used a cove cutting bit that I filed the guide bearing post off of so I wil...
Hello Everyone, This is my first blog I have ever done. When I was adding pictures to my workshop page I noticed that I did not have enough room to show more than one pic of my spray booth. In this blog I will show you my current set up. In future blogs I will talk about what I want to do to the spray booth in the future. Hopefully I will be able to post some more blogs in this series as I upgrade the booth. Ok so lets start with where it is. Our house we bought has a garage that u...
Going through the burnings, Im finding a few peices that I have left out. there are truely more than I can display. so I will try and show u the ones that I think you will like.
This table took a lot of thought and really stretched my skills but now that I see the end I know I could do it again better and faster! Background: a customer came to me with the need for a huge extendable table he had some walnut lumber left over from the building of his house and wanted to know if I could take on the job!I said yes pending a design, he said “here’s the lumber and can you make it with a trestle base” After examining the size of the lumber and getting approximate ...
This coffee table base was finished 2 months ago and we were able to get it shipped to The Netherlands. Out customer was going to put a rock fossil top on this, but had decided that it was so cool and unique that he ended up putting glass on it. It is 17” tall, finished with 3 coats stain polycrylic.
Here is the completed lamp it is 70” tall with the lamp shade 21×19 at the base it weighs 60 lbs The lamp shades are handmade. I do not make them a good friend of mine makes them for me. She does an excellent job.
