Boat building #1: In need of spiritual applicant with free plans

09-27-2009 06:08 PM by threehands | 2 comments »

Hello all. I am in need. A need to fill the void. The void is an empty spot. The empty spot in an area of the shop I haven’t seen in years. I know I can build one, just need the plans. Have looked and downloaded several but cant find ones concerning a Montana style. Those guys craft some s...

Briefcase #2: Cutting, sanding, finishing and glueing

08-04-2009 09:38 PM by Chris Wright | 2 comments »

So, now I’ve got the bulk of the work done on the case. Where I left off in my last blog I had cut the sides and glued the top together. Now, I got the top down to the right size. This was a little tricky because I wanted to keep the joint pretty much right in the middle of the panel. Once it was to size it was time to route a cove along the edges so I could fit them into the slots I cut into the sides. I used a cove cutting bit that I filed the guide bearing post off of so I wil...
