Local Auction 9+SHOPSMITHS for sale!

I put this in a forum a few days ago and wanted to add it here for everyone. I am on the mailing list for a local auction company that specialises in estate auctions. They have a sale comeing up on Oct 31st and Nov 7th that has at least 9 Shopsmiths in it. They will be selling at least 3 of the Shopsmiths on the Oct 31st day and the rest on Nov 7th. Well it finally wamed up enough around here to do some glue ups. I got my feet made and glued up, and attached them to the base. Then I routed the edge of the base, and made the transition moulding and glued that. Now a mother cold front has come through, and it looks like it might freeze tonight!! Mission Style Pedestal Table #5: Applying finish and completing the build

After a few weeks away due to travel and rainy weather, I was finally able to finish the table. The formula I was following was similar to what I used on an earlier folding step stool water based Transtint dye, sprayed shellac, and then as this was a table, Arm-R-Seal oil & urethane topcoat. I started with the dye, first wetting everything to raise grain, and then light sanding with 220 to knock down the stander uppers. Burled Juniper Log Floor Lamp #5: Completed Lamp

Here is the completed lamp it is 70” tall with the lamp shade 21×19 at the base it weighs 60 lbs The lamp shades are handmade. I do not make them a good friend of mine makes them for me. She does an excellent job.

My First Bastone Walnut Burl!

When I was slabbing it you could definately smell the walnut but it was different from the Claro and English. These have great dark black lines that are marbled. Beautiful white sap wood and hart wood. These are pics of some of the slabs. Cutting Wood Is A Blast!!!
