Handcut Dovetail Jewelry Box

This week I share with you a decorative box which features hand cut dovetail joints. This box is made of Mahogany and Pecan and its center piece being a Spalted Pecan Panel Lid. I am no authority on dovetails joints so I don’t go into a lot of detail on making hand cut dovetail joints. There are a lot of training videos and materials out there to reference off of. A Visit to the Sawyer

Tim Marko pointed me toward a local sawyer so I could get more hardwood for less money, and boy, did he send me to the right guy! Fritz Hannaman lives about 10 miles from my house, out on a little country road outside of Mansfield, Texas. I picked up all the wood you see in the back of my truck for $43. He even threw in a bunch of black walnut off-cuts I can use to make candle holders or parts for pretty much anything, and didn’t charge a dime for them. He said he was going to us...
