Resplendence of Wood ....oh the beauty of a sky filled with wood, where meeting together on my plane of vision, i re-tell the art of having made more then meets the eye, this is the respect i give as i give you wood…. —-where is the time that passes while living with wood, what is this moment i behold within my head, why stop and stare since this moment is all-ready past, how much pause can my heart infill with the desire of wood…. ....my likening is found as wr...
Storehouses Of Snow and Ice ....come inside and see, storehouses of snow and ice, harvest your vision….—by flp ————————————————————————————————————————————————————...
A Northern Version of YardWork And so up here in the land of snow, I was in need of doing some yardwork here recently and then more of….sometimes daily. So I thought I would post my version, of what that means for one such as I, who live’s in the north country come winter. So if you have your boots on and if you will please grab a shovel, then let us proceed for this mornings clean-up…. ....digging out my path to the shop has become a daily thing for me as I shovel...
Beauties of Wood ....i am the breeze that carouses through your veins of wood, where in the distance my imaging gives freely to any who taste, taste and see that ‘just as’ i am likened with life at dusk, so ‘just is’ the assurance also that come my dawn i will be therein…. —-how many ways can i speak of the beauties of wood, where out of the classroom of my workshop i bear forward to an engagement, i am enabled to continue this romance that so cap...
Surrounded by Wood and Snow ....and so once again the gods said; ”let there be snow” and on the second day of the new year there was…. Up here in New England I sometimes wonder if I’m being ‘snowed in’ or ‘snowed out’? I don’t have a lot of extra time this morning as I’m soon out the door, after some breakfast….to get this place opened up. Now some may wonder what’s the difference to being ‘snowed in’...
Still Surrounded by Wood…. ....even after some multiple snows. And so life is good, living and working out in the elements of all seasons, while giving back to the wild of the land, some thoughts on imaging that have of recent days come my way. I had stated in my last blog story that the time of green picture images had come to an end, as I was being shifted now to a time of posting over the coming months, pictures of white granular icy snow. Snow falls following the downward pull...
After-Effects of Snow…. ....what can I add that these picture do not show-tell-speak forth them-selves….? I knew this one was coming so I had already closed the place up here on the outside, in regards to waiting on an icy breath of winters best. One must understand that it’s not the snow I have a problem dealing with, but the time spent on cleaning up after all the flakes of snow have had their party. So after having spent the day yesterday staying ahead of the storm,...
Surrounded by Wood Yep it’s coming, just as the squirrels are gathering their nuts, I’m busy bringing in this seasons winter firewood, to be ready for the long drawls of snow that will soon be gracing the land. So the other day found me out in the woods….hmmm, doesn’t about everyday find me out in the woods? Well so be it, there I was cutting up some leftovers on a part of section that had some blow-down and being around 4:00 or so, a rock wall grabbed my attenti...
When I awoke yesterday morning, I thought I was dreaming. It sounded like rain drops on our roof. Sure enough, it was raining like crazy. That was at 6 AM. About 2 hours later it started snowing, & we ended up with a little over 4”. This morning our back yard looked like a fairyland. Here is one of the images. HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE !!!
Yesterday while talking about snow, & added my carved moose antler project, it was brought up about me working with different kinds of material. I’ve also worked with steel. I mentioned the department I worked for groomed snowmobile trails. The department allowed me to design, & fabricate a machine for smoothing, & packing trails. I built two of these machines. Here are some images of the machine. PS: Wood is still my favorite material. Machine pulled by Bombardier tr...
