Projects #6: John White FWW Workbench - Dimensions

857 days ago by Jeff | 5 comments »

I had a request for the dimensions I used. These are a bit ugly because I just pulled the dimensions as I needed them and was indiscriminate of the plane I was on in the rendering and there are duplicates thoughout. My apologies but it was just for my own benefit when I added them. However, I wanted to get them posted as I’m already a day a late with the post. Bob Babcock, if you view this thread, can you suggest a place to house the actual sketchup file? I don’t know if I want...

Outdoor "Coffee" Table #4: SketchUp til now

864 days ago by Dorje | 7 comments »

After a couple more hours playing with SketchUp…this is where I’m at – and I wouldn’t even be here without the help of Bob Babcock, Damian Penney, Jojo and jsheaney – so thanks guys… Now, it’s not to the tee, and I didn’t use the more advanced functions (for me) of components and groups. I’m also going to use elements of my entry bench in the design i.e the...

Morris inspired chair #9: Frustration Sets In

889 days ago by Bob Babcock | 10 comments »

OK…it’s official, I going crazy not being able to get to the chair. I’m up to my ears in a project at work, designing some improvements to two fish hatcheries, and a major water treatment project, all interesting, but it doesn’t get any sanding done or another coat of oil on the chair. Then today we had 11 new windows and a slider delivered. My son-in-law and I start tomorrow….again no chair. My Mom 85 years old just got her 1st computer, at my suggestion, a mont...

Sketchup Tutorials #1: Current videos posted on Fine Woodworking

916 days ago by Bob Babcock | 17 comments »

I wanted a way to share the Sketchup blog I’ve been doing at Fine Woodworking with my friends here at LJ. While I can’t post the commentary because of contractual stuff with FWW (you should all subscibe anyway…it’s a great resource) I can let you know when I’ve posted another video tutorial on brightcove.com. All you’ll need to do is go to brightcove .com and either search for me…treefarmer…or sketchup…(there are lots of others there as we...
