The easel was made from recycled silky oak….using half-lap joinery as seen here.
Half- lap is where material is remove to half the depth of each piece and then fitted together…
I used my new SCMS and set the depth on the micro adjustment screw.. fairly quick… and I was able to make the angled scarfs easily enough…
I used a spacer to move the timber away from the fence so I could get the cut right across.
I used glue and clamps.. then dri...

Just a few pics of the teaser box… shown in the “Sign With A Story” post..
This is made from silky oak for the posts and rails.. with Queensland Red Cedar panels…
Roughly based on a Neil Scobie design...
The glue up…Just out of the clamps with the top resting on the box…
Bring out the colour and grain with some mineral turpentine….
