I have had several LJs ask for a blog on this subject.

This is the finished hive body.Constructed from catalpa with kehoe dovetail splines “dipped” in 300 degree(max) paraffin and gum rosin.I wanted a long lasting hive body without metal fasteners to corrode. I think this fits the bill,Outside dimensions are 19 7/8” long x 16 1/4” wide(3/4” thick stock). These are the typical dimensions of a 10 frame langstroth hive.
