Sawstop and Router Cabinet / Infeed Table / Outfeed Table Project

10-19-2010 12:56 AM by zzzzdoc | 462 comments »

At the very start, let me give all the credit in the world to Tedth66, whose project this is totally based on, and who has been graciously providing guidance as I build this. This is a modification of his design, adding a few details, and making it work for my shop. I have a 2 car garage / workshop that is tremendously space challenged, so I need to be clever about every square inch. On top of that, I enjoy modifying designs and making them work custom for me. So when I saw Ted’s ...

Shop Organization #8: Workbench Cabinet (Part 1)

02-24-2008 05:36 AM by gizmodyne | 11 comments »

Time to modify the workbench. I built the bench a year ago. Currently it has a simple shelf for storage. The plan is to build a simple cabinet with drawers to store hand tools, possibly my routers, and other “stuff” Here is a pic of the plan from Matthew Teague’s Setting up Shop (same place I got the bench plan). The drawers are weird. The bottoms are glued and stapled up onto the box. The bottom then becomes the runners. —————&...

Table Saw Router Station for SawStop Contractor Saw

11-24-2013 04:12 AM by Spencer | 30 comments »

Taking inspiration from zzzzdoc, tedth66, Jeremy Greiner, and others (here, here, and here), I am setting out on a mission to create a Table Saw Station for my SawStop Contractor saw. The reasons for the project are similar to theirs: I need more storage space in my small shop, I’d like a robust stand for the saw that’s easy to move around, and their’s look really cool! I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this and many hours mocking up ideas and dimensions i...

Sawstop Contractor Mobile Base for 36" T-Glide Rails

01-06-2014 03:04 AM by Sk1pp3r | 9 comments »

So here it is. I am basing this project on one several other talented individuals have done. They include, but are not limited to, Zzzzdoc, Tedth66, and Spencer. I only have the rough outline right now but plan on cutting wood this week. I have the mobile base on 4” swiveling castors. I matched the drawer base to the same height as the original base minus 4 inches for the casters. I made the base 28×68.5 and recessed the cabinet one inch all around so once the drawer fron...

Sawstop PCS: Unbox and Review #1: Taking off the Covers...

12-15-2009 06:38 AM by Morton | 9 comments »

I am the proud owner of a new Sawstop Professional Cabinet Saw (PCS). I picked it up just a couple of days ago from Brentwood Machinery in NH and brought it into the shop. It comes with the rails, T-glide fence and extension table. I went with the 36” rails as I have a smaller shop and I use a festool TS55 to break down larger sheet goods. I also opted for the mobile base to move it around when/if I need to. I just started opening the packaging today and was not disappointed ...

Sawstop PCS: Unbox and Review #2: Assembly

12-17-2009 05:15 PM by Morton | 9 comments »

The new Sawstop PCS is fully assembled! Everything I read on the internet about Sawstop’s great packaging was right-on; I was not disappointed! I unpacked the saw box and started reading the assembly instructions. On went the crank wheels, motor cover, extension wings, switch and tool holder. I of course cleaned the cast iron and then applied some T-9 Boeshield and wax. Next came the rails and fence. After the rails were on (which was very easy), the instructions said to put...
