so just like every other woodworker at one point (what’s up with the other every other woodworkers is beyond me…) I was researching and learning about ways to sharpen my chisels, planes, and other blade tools in the shop.
Since I am the weekend warrior at this point, and I do not need to resharpen my tools THAT often, nor THAT much, I figure that I can do without any expensive powertools (there are several of those on the market) to sharpen blades and I dont really have the spa...

I drove down my road yesterday on the way home from work and noticed a sign in front of one of my neighbors houses…Woodworking Tools For Sale! We new each other to speek once in a while in the last 34 years but only to say hello. I went down there this morning to see what was up and found out Andy had died last January. We both have been woodworkers all these years but didn’t know it! The Son-in-law showed me around and I picked up a few things! All for $20…sweet!

Alright, I was visiting the company headquarters last year. While wandering through headquarters trying to get back to my car I happened accross the company store. In the back corner was a set of wire shelves loaded top to bottom with stacks of sandpaper. With a price at 2cent per sheet or 200 for 1$ (Something like that) I quickly grabbed a massive 3-4 inch pile of sheets. They also had some sandpaper for 5” orbital disc sanders. One of the future follow on project from the Norms Miter Bench project was to build in a sand paper organizer into one of the drawers of the bench.In early February a fellow LJ KnotWright told me about a liquidation sale from the shutdown of a Dell production line. I bought a bunch of things but one of the jewels was a 2’x2’ bin for PC components on the assembly line. So today I managed to pick upWhat’s this? It’s plate glass!I got it home, and a little later, after picking up some 3M-77 spray adhesive and some more sandpaper,I then got to work lapping my beat up blue marples chisel. As it turns out, the chisel has gotten WAY out of wack. Why is this a surprise? Because there was only one today. Leafing through it, I’m stunned to realize that I’ve bought a ton of stuff from these people over the years, the vast majority of it from retail outlets, first in Charleston and later from Scranton. The new one in Wilkes Barre is actually pretty nice.
