Hi everybody…....My husband finally got the floor finished…...he did a fantastic job I might add and now…..I finally sucked up enough courage to get started on my kitchen cabinets. The kitchen and dining area is 14 ft wide x 24.6 ft long. My cabinets are made of plywood and my face frames and doors are made out of hickory. Well I’d been talking to Dusty it seems like for a week. He stated that he had this idea for a memorial to Mark, in a way that only a LumberJock could. Dusty’s witings start here

OK, so yeah – another blog about a router table, but since I’m going to make one , might as well document it while I go, maybe someone can benefit from this.
I’ve had a Rockler router table top + plate + fence which I got when I bought my router (Bosch 2 1/4hp). It had the misfurtune of being on the floor when my basement was flooded a couple of years ago, so that top was ruined. Hey everyone, It was suggested that I start a discussion on how to find and harvest burls. Please give your input also.
I don’t deal with straight grain that often. I cut and sell burls for a living so here is what I know.
It is illegal to harvest a burl without permission. of course if it is on your own property you can give yourself permission. What I do is put an ad on Craig’s list saying I want your burls. Most people don’t know what burls are. So you don’t get that many calls....

I showed Barb this kit the other day, & immediately she said, ”I want one.”
When the Sweetie wants something, I usually comply to her wishes.
Besides, I can try making something I’ve never done before.
This is the kit I ordered, it's called a Reverie Harp..
One thing about this Harp is, anyone can play it because of the way it’s tuned.

I guess about ten years ago I made a second router table for certain applications. Mostly it was to be used with Incra jigs and accessories.
This table is a little fancier than the last one I posted ands does have a few advantages.
For example there is no back to this cabinet. Both sides have the same door arrangement, so accessing the router is easier to make height adjustments.

Well, its been awhile now so i figured that it was time for another shop tour. i have made a lot of shop additions in the past few months and i have gone from just a kid with a few tools to this now having a fully funtional shop and being able to sell my work and taking in commissions. so here is my updated shop tour

Well folks!
It’s finally done!
This took a little longer than expected, because of the weather, & things.
It’s amazing that it looks just like the SketchUp plan, but I think a tad better looking though.
My Son, & his family really love it.
It’s almost like a new room on their house.
I also learned about the new way of staining treated lumber.
They don’t recommend letting it dry out for 60 to 90 days.

This box required a great deal more time and care during the final sanding,mostly in trying to maintain the edge of the ridges.At first I intended to keep them as crisp as possible…which took alot of time…but I didnt care for the look afterwards.It just looked too machine made,not as organic as like.I started out with a concept of sand dunes that I thought would tie in nicely with the grain of the Myrtlewood,but thats about it.I dont try and plan out every detail of the shaping a...
