A short history putting me to where I’m at now.
I’ve always had an interest in woodwork, but unfortunately had too many other interests and thus am getting a late start into it. Over the years I’ve had and enjoyed many hobbies, and most have come and gone, but my interest in creating things for myself has never died. I’m avid do-it-yourselfer anyway and have generally done everything myself from home maintenance and room remodeling, to working on my own cars, motorc...

( Circa 1940’s)The fellow I bought it from was mostly into old cars and had no use for this iron and it sat rusting in his way. We made a decent deal and I lugged it homeward. The surfaces of the in and out feed table were rusted and pitted and I did think about having them re honed at a machine shop but first I felt it better to run it to see what else was wrong.About and hour with some rust re...

I’VE BEEN RESAWING FOR SOME TIME NOW WITHIN THE LIMITS OF MY SAW. I HAVE A JET 14” BANDSAW. I WAS ORIGINALLY LIMITED TO ITS STANDARD HEIGHT MEANING I COULD ONLY RESAW A BOARD WHICH WAS AT MAX SIX INCHES HIGH. THIS WAS VERY TIME CONSUMING WHEN TRYING TO GET A BOARD SAY 15” WIDE BUT 1/2” THICK. MOST OF THE STOCK I USE IS AT LEAST 1” THICK. I WAS TIRED OF WASTING THE OTHER 1/2” OF WOOD BY PLANING IT OFF TO GET THE THICKNESS I WANTED. I COULD RESAW IT THINN...

Yesterday had a visit from Stuart Lee… from Stu's Shed . He is a fairly imfamous Podcaster here in Australia with quite a following worldwide. It was a real whirlwind tour… he flew up from Melbourne to take a look at my workshop and also check out the Torque Workcentre… we had met Stu in Melbourne… at both the Alternative Wood Show at the Woodworking Warehouse Open Day and at the Melbourne Working With Wood Show and he wanted to have more time one on one so to speak..
