Hope Chest Build #2: Hand raised panel-first one

Well I started this blog section to keep track of how things were going. They went from good to ok to bad. When putting it all together it seemed like nothing was fitting up to square. I started using only hand tools and have started making some decent progress. I have the back panel all glued up, the front frame is ready for final assembly and the sides stiles and rails are all set for the panels. Today I got out to the shop and did some work on them. This would be my frist attempt at making raised panel doors, so I was a bit nervous and unsure how this would go. Before the christmas break in 2008, I researched some router bits and found the Freud 97-108 bit set. I went over to Rockler and talked to them and they said this bit set is excellent! OK Bob and I got together today to have a training class on Raised Panel construction. See Bob blog on Mortise and Tenon - Help Needed #1 We forgot to take pictures through the process. #2 He forgot half of his wood at home. #3 We couldn’t find enough pieces to make 1 full door so we looked through my Popular stash and found a 12” piece that would give him the required 9” piece. #4 We cut my popular to get it to the correct size.
