I have spent the last few days in the workshop working out how to make this jig.. and have it durable and repeatable and totally accurate and easy to use.Actually this jig can be used for two different projects … well probably more that two but thats all I have used it for so far.To start, I had to build a table to go over the bandsaw table for the jig to pivot on. I sometimes get requests for things I have made one of and find that making a second one is as time consuming as the first and prone to the same errors.To avoid this I try to make jigs that take the guessing out and speed up the process when the need arises. Today I sanded, I sliced, I diced and I shaped. I was not at home to Mr. Cockup. Today I’m fierce and to the strains of ‘Fearless’ off, Pink Floyd’s Meddle off I went. All this took just two hours.. Hey everyone, Just wanted to share a couple of shop Jigs with you. One is a quick and simple jig for quartering your sheets of sandpaper to use in your palm sanders or sanding blocks. The second jig is a multi function tapering Jig that lets you do 4 sided tapers as well as straight edging rough sawn boards and cutting angles also.. Recently I had a need to build a new table saw base for my saw. Rather than just building a simple replacement base, I opted to build one with lots of storage potential. This new base measures 6 feet long by 2 feet wide, which gave me good reason to move over to the new shop building.
