As we all know, woodworkers are a prideful people. How many times have we toiled over a project, spending hours and hours just to get an “uh, that’s nice dear” from the spouse? Do they not realize the 4 hours I spent at the wood store to find that grain pattern? I’m sure you can understand…. That’s one of the reasons I see that we post our projects online. To have it evaluated (or at least appreciated) by our online peers here at lumberjocks is a self check tha...

Fellow Lumberjocks….
I have been part of several projects and had some very unique experiences. My woodworking, stained glass, and various other assortment of hobbies have certainly given me very rich and full filling experiences.
I love what I do and am lucky for the most part I can do what I love.
For that I am great full.
In the back of my mind I am always thinking….(scary I know) about then next project, task, dream, or “honey do list” and what need...

Well, I’m on the move again. I’ve decided to move my workshop back to the garage. After a long time thinking about it (and about a weeks worth of cleaning) I’m going to make the move. This came about, when I went to “the shop” and found that my scrollsaw had a nice layer of rust on the table. Instead of trying to find the money to insulate the shed, I would just move to a place that is already insulated and heated and cooled.

Is anyone else having troubles uploading photos when making a new project? I’ve made my pics low res and the file sizes are only about 128kb so I’m not sure why it’s taking so long to attach. The first one usually comes up in seconds but the next ones just stall. After about 7 or eight tries it seems to work but it doesn’t seem right. Any suggestions, thank everyone.

This weekend we almost got the new cabinets entirely done. We had quite a few learning experiences along the way, which I’m extremely thankful for since these are just garage cabinets. I’m not exactly making pieces of fine furniture here out of Cherry or Oak . . . but I’m definitely learning a lot along the way.
Here’s the first picture—the back on the cabinets. My daughter and I jumped in the truck and hit the local big box store for some Lauan plywood. (...

Well, we are finally done! The entertainment center is ready to be shipped.
The piece features adjustable shelves, a false panel back to hide all wiring, and that funny looking little stand on top.
The stand is for a center channel speaker for the surround sound system. I needed a way to cover the hole that was in the original top so I designed this stand to allow the center speaker to rotate left to right and adjust up or down to aim the sound as required.
Hope you guys and gi...

I have been working hard the last few days or so Creating my New Workshop Blog. The older one that I have had listed here was my General Blog basically. It’s what I used to Put my Projects on, Woodworking, Scroll Sawing and Just general every day “Drama” I guess you would call it.
Well I have decided to Change this. I figured, that a Woodworker is ONLY interested in a Few things.
WoodToolsAccident’s – How to prevent them of course and ...

True to my word, I write this after having looked at RJ’s workshop. If you haven’t seen it, you should. It’s purdy! It’s also easy to see how I came up with the topic.
There’s a healthy mixture in lumberjocks from what I can tell; hobbiests, professionals, and professional hobbiests. The income range is nicely mixed as well (from hand-crafters to minimal power tools to seemingly gluttonous overloads ;-)), so that we all get a chance to see what someone els...
