With the arrival of my new bandaw, I figured it was time to try it out on a project. Thanks to Patricks Workshop on Youtube, I was able to have a fairly easy project to give it a test run. These bandsaw scoops are easy to create and would make nice gifts. Stop over and check out the video HERE and make sure to subscribe for woodworking and blacksmithing videos!
This morning, rather than exercising or actually studying for school, I went back to the garage to try to knock out the shelf. I was out there for about 45 minutes, and came in at 1:00 pm. I went out at 8:30. So my day was pretty well shot. I’ll hit the books this afternoon, take a test, and hopefully not fail. Here you can see I’ve got the face frame attached. I like to use dowels to help me keep everything aligned – plus I’m a little cheap, so I don’t wa...
With Christmas right around the corner I had to try to finish this wine rack in the middle of a couple of other projects going on. I got it finished though, ahead of schedule so that is always good. Check out the video here.
Creating a wine rack to sit on the ground. I have got all the grid pieces cut out and ready for the glue up. Check out my blog for more details HERE and watch the video HERE Make sure to hit that subscribe button for more Woodworking and Blacksmithing videos!
Today I started my first “real” project. Meaning it’s not a garage fixture or a tool accessory but an actual real thing. A nightstand in fact. Also, this will be my first go at using pallets.Today, I was able to make my own version of Izzy’s Pallet pal (worked great) and get some decent wood from a local place with a “free” pile. I found some pallets that had what I will call 2×3s as runners. Not sure what kind of wood but in decent shape.I also starte...
I was tired of walking around tripping over shovels, rakes, brooms, and whatever else was laid around. I didn’t want to buy one of those plastic corner tool storage things from the local big box store so I made one a few years ago. After yard duties have evolved, so has the collection of tools. Now I have axes, mauls, and sledge hammers. It was time to build another tool storage. This was made from a single pallet, so it has that “rustic” look. Tools used: circular saw, dril...
Stop having a lot of clutter on your desktop. This simple made desktop organizer will hold paper, bills, pens, and pencils. Made from 1/2 a pallet, and a crappy looking pallet to begin with. Please view the video HERE. As always, your likes, comment, shares and most importantly, your subscriptions are appreciated.
I’ve recently started playing with screen capturing and will be filming some of my sketchup sessions. I’m also in the learning phase of sketchup so any help, comments, suggestions are appreciated. Check out Part 1 here and then Part 2. As always, please subscribe for more great videos.
The other night I spied with my little wood-crazed eyes, a pallet with exceptional color and figure that is the same wood as I had salvaged from a disassembled dolly of sorts in topic: What species is this?? Wood Identification help Here is what i saw that piqued my interest: So I went shopping the following day on my lunch break to that big orange Home Center, and came away with some great tools for breaking down this pallet. (reviews forthcoming, they all performed awesomely) ...
Great way to reuse materials. I’m doing this with a standard pallet.
