Ye Old Vise

A good friend of mine came across this old vise. It was rusted a bit when he got it. We didn’t get any pictures of it in its original condition though. I recommended he use the molassas method of de-rusting it. He did that for a couple of weeks. We then took it to the car wash to spray it off and then dry it off. I just wanted to share a site that I found that may be interesting to some here on LumberJocks. The site is by a man named Shane Whitlock. http://www.shanewhitlock.com/index.htm This guy is IMHO a machine restoration genius. He also does some very nice photography as you will see on his web site. This topic is not only interesting to me but its good to see someone take an old machine and give it new life.
